I know it's too late for you this year but I disc 6-8 inches in the fall and plant it in the spring. I have disked in the fall and field cultivated in the spring and had good results too. Beans mellow the soil really well so you don't need to go to deep. If your ground has not been hilled I'd just split the row with the planter and float on your chemical and nitrtrogen and dry. I've had great results doing that also.
