Back in the 1960's one of my co-worker's brother bought a new Ford pickup and he didn't have it very when a rod was making a noise. He took it back to the dealer and they replaced the inserts and he didn't drive it very long and it started knocking again and he went back to the dealer again and they replaced the inserts again.
He didn't drive it very long and it started knocking again. My co-worker and I dropped the pan and found the same rod bearings loose. We connected a pressure vessel to the oil gallery we used at work and found the crankshaft wasn't drilled to feed oil to that rod. When the owner called the dealer and told them what the problem was they said we're sending a tow truck out to pick up the vehicle. A new crank fixed the problem. Hal
