The on board computer records tons of info and Onstar is like a cell phone. Actually I think it more like a sat phone. Your truck sends info to Onstar and they report back to you if they see a problem. It is pretty cool technology. Don't break a valve stem or drive on a flat. It is pricey to fix. The thing I don't like about the tire pressure monitoring systems is that the transducer has a battery life and at 100 bucks each can get a little silly due to the battery's going dead after a while. Keep an eye on the spare tire too. Some of them have the same sensor in them and will trip a low tire lite on the dash leaving you chasing a low tire that turns out to be the spare.
