Previous batch we made with half ground turkey and half ground beef. Used to make chili with the Carroll Shelby mix, but decided to go more towards the recipe we grew up with. Mom used spaghetti; first wife used THIN spaghetti. Current wife's family used elbow macaroni.
When I was in junior high, there was a gas station with a lunch counter right across the street where a lot of us ate lunch. Art and Grace made their chili in one pot, and then had spaghetti in another. They'd dip up some spaghetti, and then cover it with the chili; together, it made a good warm soup.
The way I fix MY chili, after the pasta/noodles finish, there's not a lot of moisture left. You could probably eat it with a fork. Wife likes it just a tad more moist.
