I would stay away from grinding stumps on land I intended to culivate. Grinding will only removed the top of the stump, not the long roots. I have been on highway construction jobs that another company had the clearing, they would grind below ground level . When we started to move the dirt there were a lot of big pices of wood from the roots of the trees. Pull the stumps with an excavator, or you will be breaking your farming equipment on the large roots. If you going to level it off and plant grass grinding is the way to go.
