Excellent article. One thing I didn't see addressed was older workers. If you are 50+, do you spend a couple of years and 1000's of dollars getting retrained? Even in high demand professions, like nursing, getting a job in you 50's is not easy. I have interviewed for several jobs in the last year. Each time, I have been 20 to 30 years older than the interviewer. I have turned down a couple of jobs, basically because I don't have to take any job, much less a sucky one.
