I say let the old man alone, it's his property, and regardless of what anyone says he won't poop enough in his life to ever make a difference to anyone. For anyone that thinks differently think about this. One man pooping for 100 years is no difference than 100 men pooping for 1 year. Before modern, indoor plumbing came into existance how many people pooped outside for how many years continuiously....and the waterways were cleaner back then than they are now.
Nowdays you have sewer systems discharging into the waterways on a routine basis for a number of reasons. Then you have the solids that are taken out that have to be disposed of too. All in all a "sanitary" sewer system isn't any more sanitary than someone pooping on or in the ground on 38 acres of their own property....
I tend to see it like I'm told my Great Grandpa did. Grandma said when the government decided everyone needed outhouses they 'made' him build one. He then proceeded to walk right past it to the woods every time nature called. His outlook, "They might have made me build it but they damm sure can't MAKE me $h!t in it". Leave the old man alone......
