Similar story. Go back to 1970, I had a 1968 Barracuda, Formula S, fastback coupe with the High Performance 383. Large 3 1/2 inch exhaust and pipes. It ate the mufflers in 15k miles. Took it to Sears for new mufflers. Took it back at 35k, Back at 50k, back at 80k. Guy said aren"t you ever going to sell this car? I said "nope" And I haven"t I "co-own" the car with my nephew since 1988. He restored it and has had it back for three more sets. He still owns it but only drives it a few miles a year.
