My son is around guns too. I own several long guns, he goes to the gun range with me too. I am bringing him up right with respect to guns, the damage they do and all that. I have instructed my son to never touch a gun unless I am right there with him. He knows this and understands, I will be buying him a .22 for his 10th birthday, in 3 months. This will also be locked up, 24/7.
As far as all my guns....they are locked up and the only key is on my key ring, The spare keys are in the safes themselves. I dont leave guns in shelves, tables or next to my bed.
