I was a freshman in high school. I was at home eating lunch before going to the feed mill to work the second shift. Must have been about 1:00 pm. I started work at 1:45pm and I was just finishing eating. I took all of my classes in the morning and bagged feed at the feed mill in the afternoons. We needed the money. I remember the mill did very little business that afternoon. Everyone was listening for news of what was going on. Many where crying. I did not get that, none of us knew him. I remember thinking it was strange to cry over someone you had never met.
