Larry, I had a friend pour my pole barn floor a few years ago. I watched and my back didn't hurt. I purchased a dewalt self rotating laser to do the job and did the prep work with my bachhoe. The laser paid for itself on just that job. If I remember right and I'm sure if my menory is bad someone will correct me, I were off by 1/4 of an inch it would take another yard of concrete, about $100. That included the concrete used outside too.
Inside my small barn, 30x40, he poured it with no forms. Used the laser to set the level and drove nails in the posts for a reference. As he was making the pour, used laser to set grade in the middle. The floor is laser level, perfect job, and has never cracked.
Haved used the dewalt laser many other times. Good investment for that kind of work. George
