Yeppers, that gives you 24 volts POSITIVE GROUND. Deere used a 24 volt series system butttttttttt only the starter and genny were 2 wire 24 volt isolated from frame ground. Where the 2 joined in the middle tie point was tied to frame ground, so you had two 12 volt A & B sources, one Pos Ground other Neg ground to run 12 volt lighting circuits. Thats NOT what you described, however.
