Griffin Gate is NOT "right across the street" from Keeneland Racecourse. Griffin Gate is on the NORTH side of Lexington, and Keeneland is on the WEST side of Lexington. Keeneland is west of Lexington on Versailles Road, just across from Blue Grass Airport.
BUT..."Circle 4," or New Circle Road, is the highway that loops around Lexington. From Griffin Gate, head TOWARDS downtown to "Circle 4," then go right on New Circle Road to Versailles Road. Keeneland will be a couple of miles on your right.
What you may find odd about Lexington--as I did--was that a street will have one name on one side of town, then a different name through downtown, and yet another name on the other side of town. US 60 is Versailles Road on the west side, becomes somtehing else through downtown, and on the east side it's Winchester Road.
The Mary Todd Lincoln house is in Lexington, and not too far from Griffin Gate...depending on your interest in historic sites.
