My wife is a home health nurse, has been a nurse for close to 20 years now. Not one time had she ever used leeches or maggots! She was taught about using them, but never used them, and once she asked about it and was told that was not legal to do because it didnt have AMA approval, and if it had been used by a doctor, he could easily go to jail for it. 3 years ago, AMA approved it for use on certain patients. She has one patient, accually several, who still have all of their limbs now because of the use of maggots!
