30x40x10 is a popular size that a lot of the builders erect, and in many cases is their low cost leader. I"ve had two built, one in the St. Louis area, and another in northeast Arkansas. I had the ceiling insulated in the St.Louis barn, and the concrete floor stayed dry year around. In the Arkansas barn, no insulation, and the ceiling dripped moisture on high humidity days. Both barns had full five inch posts (desired). In both instances, the erection crew came on site and were finished and cleaned up all within three days. Pro built barns use engineered trusses, and considerations for wind loading and snow loads.
