Ive been through this before. The 6' light duty bush hog I had was terrible, it was slightly bent from running it solid on a top link. When I hit mounds or went through low spots the tractor moved, bushhog stayed stationary and tail wheel had all of the pressure on it. The one I have now (bushhog 3008) is very tough and the whole tongue (3 point) is telescoping so it moves often when going over rough terrain. I'd set bushhog to cutting heighth with 2 point, then put in a piece of chain to make it level, this should fix any problems.
