Hey RayP-
Something doesn't sound right there, she should still be able to get her unemployment. I collected from 2 different jobs when I was fired. The first job, I put in my 2 weeks and was terminated the next day. I filed for unemployment and when I got a call from the gal looking into it, I gave my story and they gave me a check for 2 weeks while I was waiting to start my new job I already had lined up.
The second, was a job I got fired after working there for 5 months. Never had a problem, and in my formal review they said I was doing good. They came back from a fishing trip and the supervisors pet complained that I was "picking" on him so I got called into the office and let go, no questions asked.
Again, when the gal called I gave my story and they gave me checks for the 5 weeks I was out of work but looking for a job.
I've also collected here & there from my current job last year when times were hard for us. The company is through it now and is doing well.
