No reason to trouble yourself on the Idea of drawing unemployment compensation. That is a benefit employers pay for you when their times are bad.
They already believe according to what you say will be short lived till things pick up.
Any thing you can do to keep active will shorten the time away from your job, worrying will only make it longer.
Things like utilities heating and electricity if behind in payment can be resolved through your local community action if need be.And don't be ashamed to apply if needed. Food stamps is another route. I believe this was set up for folks like you to use in hard times, and not the maggots that use it as income.
