I've had great luck with the court system collecting for an estate that I administer. Judge orders payment, defendant paid for a while quit, judge had the guy put in jail for a weekend for contempt of court. He wasnt late again. Another case she ordered payment and they guy paid and quit, paid and quit, just enough to stay out of jail. He finally skipped a court date, she had him arrested on a bench warrant and sentenced him to 2 years with a conditional discharge that he not miss another payment or court date.
I guess from reading here it depends on you local laws and judges. All these are in District court which is our lowest court. I think Circuit court is harder to enforce judgements as its for more complex cases, and has more restrictive rules. I think it also helps that our judges are elected. They answer to the voters.
