Trying to find some info on a essex 4.2 liter ford engine in a 1997 f150. So far I have found that there was 4 varations of this engine. 97-98, 99-00, 01-04, and 05-08.I am looking for a good short block and coming up short. Does anyone know what the differences were? Did the block, heads, or other stuff change?
Most of the info found so far relates to intakes, electronics, and such. If I can use a later short block, or long block, and move my stuff over that will work for me. If the intake would not fit the heads, or the heads not fit the later block, well thats not going to work out.
I would be gratefull for any info anyone might have.
