You'll probably burn out your converter. Usually, those portable battery packs charge very slow with the suppled AC charger, and very fast when you use DC to charge them. Mine takes 12 hours to charge on AC, and 2 hours when plugged into a 12 volt power outlet.
Check the rating on your converter. If it's rated only in milliamps, it's a waste of time. If it's rated 13-14 volts and one amp or more, it should be OK. Standard AC converters are rated 1 amp for the cheaper units, and 2 amps for the better. You cigarette lighter/power outlet will charge it at 10 amps.
