I am a professor at St. Cloud State University. I am a Technology teacher I teach Technology Education graduate classes. I also teach: Environmental classes in resource management, and Intro to Environmental studies. Technology classes in manufacturing and CNC. Construction, Computer Aided Design (ProE) Communications Technology Electronics/electrical power systems. Plastics. Intro to Aerospace, and other courses.
I have made it a policy to have all my technology students operate machines in every lab. (we have 4 labs and an imaging center (Electron Microscope and STM AFM) We do rapid prototyping and make parts in every class. In construction we work with Habitat for Humanity, and do actual on site work for real world experiences. I was raised on a farm and we were IH farmers. I was a 4H member until too old then a leader until this year. I believe in real world practices blended with theory and management skills necessary to carry one's load. I was born in 49. on top of an M and 10-20 which we traded for a Stage1 SH when I was 3. I really enjoy the fellowship of this forum, and the respect shown by regulars. Between us we have dramatic capability to make a difference in the lives of those trying to breathe life into great machines. If you know of University age students with a desire for quality experience and skill development, send them my way. Jim
