Yes the spray rigs use a radar gun. This is so the computer knows how fast the rig is moving. The radar gun is hooked in with a flow control vavle in the spray system that constantly adjusts the flow of material being sprayed relative to the speed of the machine. The faster the machine moves the farther the valve opens to compensate. This keeps the gallon-per-acre (GPA) consistant. Hope this makes sense.
