If it is an H built before 1952, and has band brakes, it is just a matter of shortening the link with the spring on it. If the link is at its limits it may need relined. The small bolt on the bottom of the sheet metal cover is adjusted in till it has a little resistance to being tighter. then backed off a half turn. It just holds the band up and keeps gravity from allowing the band to drag on the top of the drum. If it has disk brakes the bolt spring system is shortened to tighten the pedal. Pedal free play on both is about 1 to 1.5 inches. good luck, Jim
