Never had to, I would get a notice my PO box rental was due, and there wa a piece of paper that I had to sign. That wa left in my box, and I could sign it after hrs, and all was well.
However my rent was always free, but it was always DUE.
A friend had to pay for he box because the postal car went past her house on the route. But she could not place a mail box on the main HWY 52 because the DOT said it was not alowed. So she had to pay because the postal service said she could have a mail box. WTF?
If we had any idea how much the postal worker had to know, and follow the rules, we would all be laughing. That is what you get when you have well paid managers, that got all their smarts from a book.
