You have to remember these carbs do not have the throttle pump on them so they dump gas in fast like on the old cars and trucks so yep you open it up fast it may have a problem if your spark is weak or you have the carb set way to lean. Start off but making sure you have a good blue white spark that will jump a 1/4 inch gap. If the spark it good open up your main jet a 1/4 turn at a time till you find the sweet spot
