I would swap a known good battery. If batt is weak, voltage will not come up to 14 or so which is what you want. What are the problems? Not cranking, going dead, dim lights or ??? Easy to swap batt. Hard to pull alt in my book anyway. I had 3 91's and two of them the connections on the external(not yours)rusted because they were made of ferrous metal, not brass or copper which is preferred.
