I agree. Machine-readable paper ballots are the way to go. The cost of a scantron machine and the paper is just a drop in the bucket compared to those extravagant computer voting machines that got sold across the country after the 2000 vote-counting fiasco. The last time I voted, we also had the machine that could help the hard-of-seeing fill in their own printed paper ballot. Prior to that an election worker would assist.
