Reminds me of a couple of years ago, a high school classmate of mine, who was always kinda like Paul Revere's ride, (a little light in the belfry), took a set of four beat up mag wheels to a local scrap iron place. They were going to give him $46 for the set. Only somehow or other their computerized check writing system wrote a check for $4600.
They didn't catch it at the time, so this bonehead went home, cashed the check, and bought a pickup. A couple of weeks later, the scrap iron place caught the mistake, tracked it down, and called him and wanted their money back. Of course, he no longer had it.
Last I heard, he made a deal to pay $100 a month till it was paid back. I won't bet the farm on that ever happening. A good question is, though, since it was the scrap iron place's mistake did they really have any legal recourse? It's not like the guy went in intending to pull a fast one intentionally.
