Hi all,
This is my first post! I am a newbie in collecting older tractors, and am on the verge of buying my first. My first tractor interest is the Farmall letter series, and I am contemplaiting the purchase of a Farmall M.
I have one that I am very interested in. I looked over it thoroughly today. I measured the rear wheel width, and it was 88 inches from outside wheel to outside wheel.
I know the rear wheels are adjustable, but they looked like they were nearly as narrow as they could go. Does this sound right? One thing that is making me hesitant to buy this great looking tractor is that, at 88 inches wide, I am concerned I will have trouble trailering it if I take it anywhere.
Any thoughts on if you think I will be able to move them in, even four inches? How narrow can I get them? I saw an M at a show over the weekend and the rear wheels seemed much narrower that this one.
Any ideas you have are welcome.
Thanks!
Chuck
