The Foot-N-Inch valve controls the maximum system operating pressure. As oil bypasses in the valve the high pressure relief valves in the hydro unit are allowed to open. As long as the charge pump system is working properly nothing will starve for oil when the pedal is depressed. Unlike a manual clutch, feathering the Foot-N-Inch valve for extended periods of time will not harm the system.
