Did they have paint codes of that era? I thought IHC and other MFG'S bought what ever was available hence the varied grey color as the US war dept put a lot of battle ship grey paint on the market in the 20's and 30's which the mfg's grabbed right up. Colors varied greatly so any shade of dark grey would look nice I think.
