My buddy smoked the trans in a new chevy 1500 stuck in the mud. Told him to let it cool down. He was rocking it between D&R for 30 minutes or so and it smelled hot. Had to get pulled out anyway. Took it to the dealer. GM warranty payed for it no questions asked. Service manager told him he didn't care if the truck was abused or not that if it was still under warranty it would be repaired free of charge. Hell the dealer even washed all the mud off it top and bottom.
