The ONLY way to succesfully estimate soybeans yields is to harvest them. You can count pods and cipher till the cows come home and it dont mean a darn thing! Watched a Pioneer soybean agronomist who is in charge of tens of thousands of acres of soybean parent seed production inspect a field of experimental soybeans we had planted for the Woodhull production facility and he was sure it would be the best beans we had EVER raised. Not even close, they were ten bushells less than any field of beans we had that fall but they were some of the biggest prettiest beans anyone had ever seen. After that I quit trying to guess, if he couldnt figure it out, aint no point of me even trying. bill

There is no known history regarding its origins or what service it had done, but the following work was undertaken alone to bring it up to show standard.
