I'll be that was just annoying til you figured it out, we put a set of knives on the JD 6620 combine last summer, rivets and all, plus getting the knife bar out and back in, + grain head auger tore apart inside, needed a new piece of steel/bearing, did 140 acres of oats this year though, made good time with it. Last fall, bearing that was overlooked for some reason, caught fire, one under the seat, otherwise this combine was always well greased and cared for, darned lucky, it did not go up, got it out with the extinguisher, but on a down side of a hill, a pain to get to and work on, you just never know what you are gonna get with any of this stuff at any given time.
