Wasn't me, but my son learned several lesson the hard way. We had a Ford NAA. The solenoid was a bit finicky. He went to start it and it would not go. So he dismounted the tractor and proceeded to jump start the tractor. Of course it fired right off and took right off. We have a habit of putting the tractor in gear when getting off so we do not have roll away issues. He managed to get out of the way but to my horror he jump right back in front of the rear tire to get it stopped. No harm but some serious sweating going on.
Needless to say we had a long talk afterwards. Since I was quite fond of him, I required he attend a tractor safety course before he could do any more tractor driving and we fixed the finicky solenoid........
