Be real careful on this one - we are getting double-speak from Google & other internet companies. They want it one way, so they are trying to say the other way is bad.
Net neutrality means if you buy access to the internet, you get an open channel to the whole internet.
If the companies like Google & the access providers get their way, they will be able to be bought off. They can direct what content you get from the internet. That's a bad deal.
It would end up, if it were cars we are talking about, only Ford cars will be seen on roads owned by Ford; and only GMC cars could use roads controlled by GMC.
It would be like payolla on radio stations. Very much like this old issue. Record labels were banned from paying stations to play only their songs. The radio stations remained free of bribes, so we the listeners could infulence what is heard, rather then being told to listen to music from only certain labels.
Likewise, net neutrality is a good thing for us consumers.
It would keep the internet on a level playing field.
