I can't say that I really disagree with getting rid of these prison farms. They sold of the Westmorland herd in June. I think it was the first one to go... I have little doubt that anything they produced could be more cheaply bought elsewhere, and that's likely what's behind the decision. What value it provides the prisoners... I don't know... but I suspect it's a precious few that really take much from it over the long term.
