: I am looking for a tractor I can use to skid logs. It would be great if I could get a tractor that could load the logs onto my trailer also. The logs I work with are generally in the 800 - 1,000 lbs range. I have been looking at a Ford Jubliee and a Ford 2600. Do these seem reasonable for this type of work. Could I equip either with a loader capable of lifting these weights? I appreciate any assistance. Doug Adams

If you are planning to use this small a tractor in rough terrain, I would suggest that you use a three point forklift to lift logs, so that the weight would be on the traction end and not on the front. However, if you find a tractor that has powersteering and a heavy duty frontend then I would say go for it.
