There has been a shortage of local tobacco labor for 15 years. Too many locals draw'n tater tickets and don't need to work, the folks who used to help in tobacco after/before a public job don't need the extra money anymore, and old school migrants are hard to find. In July of 1998 I was talking to fellow Allis Chalmers collector Mike Schilling about the annual "Gathering of The Orange" AC show coming up in August of 1999.
