Points most likely need to be cleaned. DO NOT use sand paper to do this because it will yes clean them but then in turn leave silicone behind that will cause you the same problem you already have. They make point files for just that type of problem and cost a great big price of $0.99. When a machine that has point sits the points corrode and that in turn causes the problem you have. Shoot even a piece of card board from a cereal box etc will clean the points
