As kids we always took the old tractor tire inner tubes, patched and duck taped the holes and then blew them up big as houses and took down to the pond or lake. A couple of weeks ago I replaced the inner tube in a trailer tire with a new one, patched the old one, blew it up and tossed it into a small wading pool the dogs love to cool off in. One dog, our lab sees the inner tube, can't figure out what it is, starts barking and ducking and more barking, and then it just blew up from the hot sun. KABOOM and shreaded, sending him running and barking for the hills. I guess they don't make inner tubes like they used to, and that dog won't go near the pool anymore. The golden don't care, but the lab won't go near the pool now.
