Those hoists where not made for high pressure hydraulics. I blew the end out of one twenty years ago. It happens when you let it hit the end of its stroke. That little snap ring was made to hold back a system with 1500 psi or less. Your newer tractors can have up to three thousand psi. You can replace the cylinder with one that has a smaller bore and the same stroke. A tie bolt cylinder is the cheapest. Bailey Company is a good place to get cylinders too. http://baileynet.com/
