Some of my sorghum-sudangrass was pretty close to 10ft tall when I cut it a couple of weeks ago. Unfortunately, some of it was 5in tall because it had been lodged down by straight-line winds. It will still be fine to cut and I think the 1209 will cut it fine as long as you can keep it from plugging.
If you're not doing it already, I highly recommend using a wrapper and making balage out of it. I got a little worried last year that I had poisoned my cattle when I started feeding it out because the next morning most of the cows where laying down and groaning. It turns out that they just eat so much they were acting like me after Thanksgiving dinner.
