Getting a majority screwed up their little game, because now with the majority still nothing is passing and blaming the party of NO is kinda lame. You could always tell which way a vote was going to go if they didn't want something to pass that was actually good for the people they just pick some long term senator to blame it on and he wouldn't get hurt too bad. Bout like watching fake wrestling, good guy and bad guy both win a round and the good guy wins final round but in Congress the good guy never wins.
