Kurt -

Great tractor!

There are parts available for the generators, but the conversion is more satisfactory.

There are two types of self-energising Delco's available here - both 37 amp - a high speed and a low speed cut-in. About $90 Cdn here outright.

We've converted 6 of ours as the generators died, and the slow-speed units are the best. The 37 amp is more than adequate, and you don't have to replace the ammeter.

You will have to reverse the polarity of the electrical system to negative ground, reverse the ammeter connections so it will read properly, and run a #12 wire from the new alt to the load side of the ammeter.

You will need a hinge bracket for the alternator (can be cobbled up from the generator mounting, or simpler, mount it on the timing cover like the 135 or later units.

Questions? drop me a note.
