Hi, Got into the 96 pontiac grand am yesterday morning and the tach & speedometer wasn't working. The needles don't even budge. The other guages in the panel work and the fuse is ok. I'm fairly sure this is an electronic unit although the odometer is the old style rolling number type and it is still working.
Parts guy at gm said they just pull the instrument panel out and send them to gm at 300 bux a pop. Guess I'd rather look for a sending unit or bad connection before ripping into the dash if I knew where to look. Any ideas here? Thanks in advance.
