If there old cattle and they start losing weight and dont stop with the runs, it could be jones deises and there is only one cure "lead poisoning".My dad has had it in his herd for over 10 years and only cows over about 12 years seem to get it. This year he had 2. He offered me the calves and like a fool,(anything free) I took them. I hope I didn't drag the stuff my way. the calves always grow real well and usually he will shoot the cow in fall but these were so bad he did it early.He knows already not to keep older cows,(but they were so nice). I hope this is not your case as it can be a real pain.
