After three years of spraying, wiping, and lots of mowing, we made the 1st cut yesterday. This crop is sprigged, so it takes a while to fill in. The good thing is, there are really no known pests or diseases that affect it, and it requires no nitrogen fertilizer. It's called "Florida's Alfalfa", becuase it makes a similar quality feed, compared to the only other option here, bermuda grass. I'm pleased with the amount on the ground, it was 2' tall in some places. It's going to be a big learning curve for me to put into bales, my only experience is with grass. I've got a side delivery rake and a JD 346 square baler. I know the key is not losing leaves. I'll take any advice y'all can offer, and lots of luck.
