Hi Larry, Ihave moved about 1000' from where I was raised The farm you see so often is the home farm that my two uncles took over from my grandad and my dad lives across the road from me. There were a total of 6 of my dads brothers and sisters that owned farms in our community.One other uncle is still alive and has a farm in town.My dad and grandfather owned a CASE machinery dealership, which operated from 1922-1986. The farmers in the area are now serviced by my good friends 30 miles to the east, who are carry the banner for CNH, Kubota, and many short lines. Everyone knows or is related to everyone else around here. I often say that if I got a$1.00 for every million dollar veiw I see in my travels each day, I would be a millionair myself. Today's Featured Article - The Revival of a John Deere Combine - by The Red, John Fritz. For several years I had been driving by a farm house on the west side of Indianapolis that had a John Deere combine parked in high weeds in a lot behind the house. The gentleman no longer farmed because the entire area was developed with housing and light industry. I had stopped several times and knocked on the door but no one would answer.
